EMASC:
Emirates Media and Studies Centre is one of the leading
independent research and media institutions in Emirates,
that aims to work within the national and regional frames,
and it relies in achieving it goals, on the efforts of
thinkers and intellectuals to play an active role in public
and political lives, and the ambitions of wide sectors of
Emirates and Gulf youths.
The launching of the centre comes at a time when the Gulf
and Arabic region in general, face a state of wide political
movement, pushing towards cementing the civil Gulf and
Arabic society, and it’s growing institutions to play a
leading role in building a better future, in a region where
the world focuses it interests in for its potential and
natural resources.
The centre’s role is not described in the context of
aligning to a specific political situation, or being
restricted to a limited ideological and political vision,
but it is expected to be part of a national wise umbrella,
and an element of strength in the society's coherence, thus
all the tools and ways that will be used by the centre must
rely of the following objectives:
- Containing ideological and political extremism, and
its phenomena, through spreading the culture of free and
responsible dialogue, and opening the windows for direct
communication between the state's classes and the
society, and emphasizing the state of law and
institutions, and spreading the public freedoms, and
achieving justice in distributing resources, and
allowing wide opportunities for jobs.
- Encouraging positive activism by the youths of
Emirates and the Gulf region, in all the national
issues, including political participation issue and
building the consultation system based on responsibility
and review.
- Working actively with the thinking elite of Emirates
and Gulf region, and strengthening the opportunities of
meeting between them, through joint seminars and
workshops.
- Establishing channels for dialogue and communication
between the general public and the official levels in
Emirates and Arabian Gulf, bridging the existing
distance, and pushing the political authorities to
listen to the masses expectations and ambitions.
And the general goals that centre works to achieve
include:
- Presenting the UAE in the political, social,
economic, and intellectual fields, while emphasizing the
existing diversity of the country.
- Presenting the experts and symbols of Emirates in
the different fields and presenting their production
internationally.
- Deepening the concept of dialogue, and encouraging
cooperation between society's spectrums, and
intellectual streams.
- Supporting civil society institutions, and
presenting its activities, and enabling it to contribute
in building the state of institution.
- Preparing and documenting the studies, researches,
statistics, and different information in relation to
UAE.
- Emphasizing the concept of respecting human rights
and public freedoms.
- Advocating the concept of respecting women's rights
in Emirates.
